c1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes because she used her power as the great wife to help carry this new religion.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
I think that at first her beliefs were more profound but the more she worshipped Aton the more it became personal, to the point of being banished because she didn’t want to give it up.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
I think, in my own opinion she should be remembered as somebody who was strong in her beliefs. I think that because even when her husband wanted to abandon the cult that he started she remained with it.

1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
I say yes because even though she was a woman she wanted to have some power like her husband and spread a new religion the cult of Aton.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
Well at first it wasn’t personal but the people thought the religion was sacrilegious and didn’t want to follow it anymore, but Nefertiti didn’t quit she believed in her beliefs and not nothing else.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
In my opinion she should be remembered by how hard she tried to keep up her religion and not quit and keep and going, even though her husband also quit the religion.

i can skip the home work because my team won the race from yesterdays game.
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, she passionately embraced the worship of Aton. She used her position of power to build a new palace for the worship of Aton in Akhetaten. She was also in a lot of Egyptian art with Akhenatenand their family portrayed as a normal family, which was against tradition presenting the royal couple as they were aloof.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
I think it was more personal, although the only literary survival of their religious belief is “the hymn to Aton” which declares Aton to be the only god, it also mentions Nefertiti as the great royal consort whom he !Akhenaten! laves, the mistress of the two lords, !Upper and Lower Egypt!
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
I think she should be remembered by what she had accomplished and how even though she was a woman she still used her position of power to build a palace for her beliefs.

1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, because she used her power as the great wife to help carry this new religion, the cult of Aton.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
I personally think that her beliefs are more thorough but as she kept worshipping Aton, it became more personal to the very edge of being banished for continuing this worship
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
I honestly believe that she should be remembered for the strength behind her beliefs, not only as a woman but as someone who sticks to what they believe in. Yes, it would have been easier if she had quit the cult when her husband did but she stood strong!
-Fremio Encarnacion
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
No, she might have been one of the greatest great wives, but in the end she was “divorced” and the religion she and her husband were pushing ended up failing. In the end everything stayed pretty much the same.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
I think her beliefs were personal because only her and her husband shared the religion.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
She is remembered for being a strong great lady instead of the usual passive ones. I think that’s how she should be remembered, as one of the strongest and most independent great ladies of Egypt.

i can also skip because my team won.
-anna roguska
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, it did. Usually the “Great Wife” was in high regard, but her power was more passive. It was up to the pharaoh to really enforce laws. With Nefertiti though she wasn’t as passive. She really embraced their new religion . She used her power and position to spread the new religion. Also she played a big role in the building of Amarna (or also known as Akhetaten)
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
I feel like it was a little bit of both. She really embraced and believed the new religion, in fact to excess. Because of her beliefs she was stripped of her crown and title. They were also personal, because Akhenaton and her made the religion themselves so it must have had some personal beliefs in the new religion.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
I feel she should be remembered as a great queen, because instead of just standing the shadows she took a stand and voiced her and her husbands opinion. She also so should be remembered as a great person, not just a great queen because she stood for what she believed in, and that was religion. She let herself be stripped of her power and title just for what she believed, and I think that is what made her great.
The one right above was Sammy Mohney
sorry...
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, she supported her husband's belief of Aton and they built a new palace together in Akhetaten. Then they developed the cult of Aton. No other queen had taken such an active part in Egyptian religious life.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
Her beliefs were more personal, because the cult was very unpopular among the Egyptians and almost considered sacrilegious.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
She should be remembered as a person who embraced her beliefs.
~Laurennnnn
To Becca Parr
I agree with your answer for ? 2 even though i thought her belief's weren't personal.
To Mackenzie
For ? 1 I thought it affected society, but you are right that she and her husband got divorced.
Yolanda Ramos
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, the people considered the throne of power really as her own. She also was a big supporter of Aton and used her husband’s power to spread the god’s worship, which would have affected their beliefs and way of worship.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
The article says she ‘held true to her religious faith’. So I think her beliefs were purely personal. The article doesn’t really specify if she had a profound concept of divinity or not.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
She should be remembered for her devotion to the god Aton, and by artifacts found that are related to the god.
Melanie Ghering
Sammy:
I like your answer for #2. I didn't see the possibility of both aspects of her faith and beliefs.
Fremio:
I agree with your answer to #3 that she stood strong for her beliefs.
Melanie Ghering
Becca,
I like your answer for #3 because I didn't include that she should be remembered for what she had built as well as the religion.
Bill,
I like your answer for #2 because I never considered that her beliefs may have been at one point not personal.
~Mackenzie
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
**Yes because she unlike the women before her she used her individualism to push the Aton cult upon her and her husbands people. Her individualism put monothesism upon Egypt.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal
**I believe that her believes where purely personal because she pressed Aton on and theroy says that she was exiled becasue she didnt want to follow her husband and give up believing in Aton(which by the way I believe with the reason of her exile that was given in the article).
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
**I think she should be remembered as a individualist(<- if thats a word) that stayed true to her religion. I also think she should be a role model for other religionist people wiether they be catholic or whatever. She stayed true to her beliefs and I think alot more people in this world should do the same even if its not religion they should be like her and stay true to what they believe in.
**{maki}**
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes, I do think she had an affect on Egyptian society, she showed a great pride in being the “great wife”
.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
No, I don’t think she had any profound sense of divinity I do think it was all her own beliefs just like the pharaoh it was a bunch of bologna that he was a god and had all the answers so yes I do think it was all her own beliefs.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
In, my opinion I think she should be remember by having her story being told. So, generations to come can appreciate her.
-Allison Linner

1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
1. Yes, she was not passive like the other wives; she wanted to spread the gods worship and built palaces.
2. It was personal; she believed it because her husband did.
3. She is still admired today and I think she should be remembered as a influential Egyptian women.
-Duncan White
1. How did Hatshepsut get into power? Her husband was her half-brother, Thumose II, who was King at the time, and when he died she pushed aside her, well his son, Thumose III, and proclaimed herself "King" with all the power in her hands. Then she recieved the titles given to male pharaohs.
2. Why is she known as the "bearded queen"?
In several potraits she is pictured in a masculine way (clothes, armor, etc...) and in one potrait she is wearing a ceremonial beard. Basicall, a way to make a rare female "king" more masculine.
3.Name two or more of her achievements, events or things accredited to her.
She commissioned Deir el Bahri (Sphynix, Pyramids), 2 giant obelisks at Karnak(hewn from a single block of granite and pointed with gold),and she also erected statues, restored temples, and built new shrines.
*She is said to have "discovered" Punt, but it wasn't true.

-Becca Parr
1. Did Nefertiti's individualism have any effect on Egyptian society?
Yes it had an affect on society because it was uncommon for a wife of a pharaoh to be that individual. She was very opinionated and followed through with her beliefs no matter what.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
For the most part her beliefs were more personal about the god Aton.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
We think that she should be remembered as a very opinionated and strong woman who did what she wanted and didn’t let anyone stop her.

Yes because she tried to use her power even though she was a woman to build a new palace and spread the new religion.
2. Did she have a more profound and philosophical concept of divinity, or were her beliefs purely personal?
i think that her beliefs were more personal because in the article it says that she didn't want to give up her beliefs and she kept worshiping Aton to the point of it being banished.
3. In your opinion, how should she be remembered?
i think that she should be remembered as a strong woman who kept to her beliefs even when other people didn't and she used what power she had to build a place for this new religion
